Club Rules
1. That the Association be named "The Kirkby Stephen and District Angling Association"2. That the Officers of the Association consist of President, Vice-Presidents, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, and a Committee of eleven members (five to form a quorum).
3. That an Annual Meeting of members of the Association be held in February each year when all officers will be elected.
4. The number of Members in the Association be restricted to two hundred, any addition to be sanctioned by the Committee Resident members being those permanently within a radius of six miles from Market Square, Kirkby Stephen.
5. That no person be allowed to fish in the Association waters until he had paid for and received his ticket. All membership fees must be paid before 1st April in each year.
6. That no person using the Association waters shall be accompanied by a dog.
7. That the sale of fresh water fish by members, whether such fish be caught in or outside the Association waters, is strictly prohibited, and that any member so doing shall forfeit his ticket.
8. That any person breaking any of the Rules and/or Bye-Laws of the Association shall be excluded from the benefit of the same for such a period as the Committee shall decide.
9. The Committee reserve the right to refuse membership.
10. That any proposal, addition and/or amendment to these rules and, or Bye-Laws be forwarded to the Secretary in writing, and signed by at least four members, before 15th September each year.
Bye-Laws
1. That the Trout Fishing Season shall begin on March 15th and end on September 30th (both dates inclusive) as per North West Water Authority Bye-Laws. No Grayling or freshwater fish shall be taken from March 15th to June 15th.
2. Membership Tickets give the right to fish for both Trout and Grayling.
3. That Members and Visitors will be issued with a Membership Ticket which must be shown on demand at all times when fishing the Association's water.
4. All catches must be shown to a fellow member on request.
5. That holders of Visitor's Weekly and Day Tickets are permitted to fish for Trout with Fly only.
6. That Members and Visitors are NOT ALLOWED to take more than 2 TROUT PER DAY AND 100 PER SEASON and that NO TROUT UNDER 12 INCHES in length from nose to the fork of the tail be taken. A 12 inch length to be marked on rod or net handle. Any Member or Visitor found on Association Waters with undersized Trout will be dealt with under the provisions of Rule 8. No Grayling under 9 inches in length may be taken but there is no restriction on the number taken.
7. That no fish roe or medicated bait or any other illegal bait shall be used and no bait feeding shall be allowed. Any person breaking this Bye-Law will be prosecuted.
8. That all gates be left often or shut as found - walls and fences are not to be holed or broken down, and the provision of the Country Code be observed.
9. That the Association waters be closed to all fishing between 1st February and 14th March each season, both dates inclusive.
Note
The Wharton Hall Water is restricted to fly only and no fishing at weekends.
No spinning is allowed on the stretch from New Bridge to beyond Trainriggs.
