A Super Brownie

Contributed by Ron Baldwin (16.03.09)

Waited until the 16th so that all you folk who have to go to work had the maximum space on the river on opening Sunday - do hope it was a good day - there didn't seem to be many parking spaces free..

This is my second season. I became a professional "whitebait" hunter during 2008/9, seemingly incapable of hooking into anything longer than 4" (except for 5 grayling on the Kings beat) despite hours and hours of effort. My performance was so poor I didn't dare send in a catch return - too humiliating!

You can imagine my delight therefore when I caught and released a super brownie of 14" about 100yds upstream of Musgrave Church today on a grey shrimp. Oh! doesn't it make you feel good !!!
