Took some clients fly fishing over the weekend (21-22 May), in what turned out to be difficult conditions. On Saturday the river started off coloured and falling making life difficult for exeprienced fly fishers let alone those in my party who had not done a lot of river fishing but everyone enjoyed themselves at least. At lunchtime the water really coloured making fishing almost immpossible.
On Sunday, the prospects looked better with small hatches of olives coming off and even the odd mayfly. In fact, everyone caught trout/parr in the first few hours but then the rain came down hard and ruined what could have been a great day.
Still better luck next time.
