Salmon
reach KSDAA waters
Contributed by Caroline Dent (29.10.2005)
Salmon have reached the waters of Kirkby Stephen and District Angling
Association. A good view for anyone wanting to see some of the fish
is to visit Stenkrith Park at the top of K.S and to look over the
millenium bridge. This is the farthest point on the eden the salmon
can run. Locally called as Cow-Carny it has a waterfall which they
try to jump up and quite a long stretch below which they swim regularly.
Later in the evening is the best time to see the them. The salmon
stay there for some time before dropping back to find spawning beds.
